Congratulations for choosing the Swift Driving Academy
to receive your Class A License and join the nations greatest truck
driving team.
Please review the following information below as you
prepare for your arrival and training to receive your Class A CDL. Dress Standards
- Shirt with collar must be worn.
- Slacks or jeans are acceptable.
- Boots, leather street shoes, or tennis shoes.
- Hair must be clean and neatly groomed.
- Beards and mustaches must be neatly trimmed.
- No excessive amount of jewelry.
- Shorts are not allowed in the classroom or road training.
The following attire is not appropriate.
- Tank tops.
- Scandals (no open-toed shoes)
- Halter-tops
- Women may wear dresses in the classroom, but not during the
range or road training.
- No shorts allowed in classroom or on the road.
- Any attire with vulgar or inappropriate sayings or gestures.
Greyhound Bus Transportation Swift will provide only two (2) bus tickets to the
student.
- To the Academy at the original start of the school
- To the students home when:
- Student graduates from the school
- Student fails any testing of the course.
(classroom, range skills, road test)
- Student fails the D.O.T. physical or Swift
work well test.
If a student fails a drug screen they must provide
their own transportation home.
Testing Swift requires an eighty percent (80%) overall on
all exams including classroom, pre-trip, skills, and road test. If the
student is unable to achieve eighty percent, the student is allowed
to re-test only once in each area.
- Strait line backing test.
- Pre-trip test as required by state.
- Basic control skills as required by state.
- Road test as required by state.
