Arrival Time:	Do not arrive before Sunday. You will be charged for a room if you arrive early. If you are driving save your gas receipts. Turn these into your Processor in Memphis when you return for orientation. Reimbursement will be on one of your paychecks.

Bus Drop off:	After arriving in Memphis, TN Greyhound terminal a Swift shuttle van will take you to the Hotel. Get on the shuttle for the Memphis Terminal. The shuttle will run approximately every 3-5 hours. Do not call for the shuttle, wait until the next scheduled pick up. If arriving overnight after 1:00 AM the day shuttle will pick you up at 6:35 AM

Money for food and other personal expenses If you are staying at the hotel it is strongly recommended that you bring an alarm clock to ensure proper arrival time at orientation.

Monday morning at 5:15 AM the Academy bus will pick you up. If driving please report to the Memphis Wellnes Center before 6:00 AM. Bring a jacket/sweater. The classrooms can be cold.

Please wear appropriate attire while attending school. Bring clothing for various weather conditions. Coin laundry available at hotel. The following applies:

1. Collar length hair, long hair has to be pulled back in a ponytail.
2. Beards and moustaches neatly trimmed.
3. No shorts or tank tops.
4. No sandals, flip flops, or any open toed shoes.
5. No excessive amount of jewelry.

After training, all students will return to their home domicile to complete Road Training and examination by a local DMV.

After receiving a Class A CDL from the local DMV, students will be assigned a mentor for 6 weeks of paid training. If a mentor is not available at a terminal location students will be bussed home for an assignment. When out with a trainer you will not be guaranteed any home time.

You must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical, substance / alcohol testing, Swift Work Well Program, and have 20/40 vision or below in each eye.

You will be sharing a suite with 3 other people, twin beds with bedding supplied. All suites are non-smoking with a dinning area, TV, and a full kitchen; stove, pots / pans, dishes, and microwave included.

Room 161 is provided at the hotel for group study.

Any student found with alcohol or a person of the opposite sex in their room at any time will be terminated and sent home immediately.

Facility & Equipment Description

A 5,000 square foot office and classroom equipped with state-of-the-art video equipment and other visual aids.

A 25 acre driving range.

Training equipment includes freightliner tractors with conventional design, as well as 53' long trailers. All equipment is owned by the institution and is maintained in a clean, modern facility.
